UPDATE: Recording & Uploading Synchronous Lessons to Schoology
We have received lots of messages about the requirement to record synchronous lessons and upload them to Schoology. The goal is for teachers to NOT teach a synchronous lesson and then double their work by repeating the lesson to record without students present.
A memo was sent to principals stating teachers may now record synchronous lessons in TEAMS and upload them to Schoology. The email included a step-by-step guide for how to do this. If you didn’t get the “how-to”, ask your principal or email info@mnea.com if you are a member and we will send it to you.
The expectation is not that you will begin recording and posting your lessons today. If you are comfortable with doing so, you may. If not, you will have time to be trained this week on how to upload lessons so all students have access.
The district is offering a live training from 3-4PM today (8/17/20) to show teachers how to record and post using TEAMS and other platforms. Your principal has the link. We have asked for the training to be available at additional times for middle school teachers. If it’s not offered live, the recording will be made available.
If you need additional training, please ASK! Let your principal know so they can convey that to the district, email or call the help desk, utilize the technology FAQs, ask a colleague, etc.
And, please let us know how we can assist you by emailing info@MNEA.com. We don’t always see comments or DMs.
