MNEA educators met with the Nashville Mayor to advocate for strong public schools, fair funding, and respect for the profession. Their voices are shaping local policy and putting students first. Together, they’re building a stronger future for education! #MNEA #EduAdvocacy
Nashville Mayor meets with MNEA President Dr. Pendergrass for a productive conversation centered on strengthening collaboration between city leadership and labor voices.
City level advocacy:
MNEA officers meet regularly with elected local leaders to advocate for policies that strengthen our public schools. This includes school board members, metro council members, and the mayor. We also organize lobbying and collective action of our members and their allies.
In addition, MNEA works on campaigns with other labor and community groups that are complementary to our vision and mission. This includes Central Labor Council of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, Nashville Organized for Action and Hope (NOAH), and the Tennessee Alliance to Reclaim our Schools (AROS).
