District level advocacy:

Our representative assembly (RA) meets monthly to discuss, debate, and ultimately pass legislation to solve issues at the district level. The RA drives the work of our association to fulfill our vision and mission. Our RA is made up of association representatives from every school. 

In addition, the MNEA executive board meets monthly with the director of schools, as well as the MNPS chiefs of staff, and association superintendents to discuss and solve district-level issues. 

MNEA is the only organization to have won seats representing MNPS certificated employees in negotiations for their MOU through collaborative conferencing. 

We also have three action committees:

• Advocacy

• Professional Practices

• Social Justice

These committees are charged with leading the organizing work of MNEA campaigns. Members wishing to be more active should consider joining one of our action committees!
