COVID Leave Procedures Update

If you are required to quarantine due to COVID during the remainder of the 20-21 school year, you will not be charged sick leave. If you do not experience symptoms, you may continue to work virtually as needed.

If you get your COVID vaccine in-county, you will not be charged sick or personal leave. Work collaboratively with your principal/supervisor so your classes are covered for the time you will be out of the building to get your COVID shot.

If you get you are traveling out-of-county for your second COVID shot, you will not be charged sick or personal leave. Request a morning or afternoon appointment or a closer location to minimize the amount of time you will be out of the building. Work collaboratively with your principal/supervisor so your classes are covered for the time needed to travel to get your second shot.

If you traveled out-of-county prior to Wednesday, February 10, 2021 to get your first COVID vaccine and used a sick day, your sick day can be reinstated. You need to provide documentation that you received your vaccine to your principal and bookkeeper. They will work with you to ensure the sick day is reinstated to your account.

If you have a negative reaction after getting your COVID vaccine and are unable to work, you will be required to take sick leave.

We appreciate the district's efforts to have a fair and equitable procedure for teachers who sought vaccination before it became available to them in Davidson County in order to protect themselves, their students, and their families.
